- It All Began…It all began… In the summer of 1961, in the Baptist Hospital of Winston-Salem, NC, Randy Merrill entered the world as a PK (Preacher’s Kid) with a godly, musical heritage. His maternal grandparents, Vernon and Marion Spurr, had produced a previous generation of musical servants of the Lord (Theron, Thurlow and Donna Lou Spurr, Randy’s mother who traveled extensively for Youth for Christ in the 50’s). According to God’s design, ministry and music would be a vital part of Randy’s training. Early in life, preaching opportunities, instrumental lessons, church involvement, parental instruction and participation with his family, the MUSICAL MERRILL’S (Ron, Donna and Ronda, his sister) generated a love for God’s Word, godly music and a desire to encourage others to serve the Lord. In the 8th grade, Randy became the congregational songleader at the Bethel Baptist Church (about 350 members) in Savannah, Ohio. By his Junior year in high school, he inherited the church choir responsibilities from his pastor-father. Then God directed him to Bob Jones University in the fall of 1979. Like his father 25 years earlier, Randy became the Student Body Chorister and eventually the Student Body President in 1983-84. After being honored in Who’s Who Among…

- EventsDo you ever wonder about life? It’s not every day that you get a second chance. The fact is, we all fail. We do things we regret. We say things we wish we could erase. We hurt the ones we love. Need a second chance? Second chances can happen through our Savior. We encourage you to experience a relationship like no other–with Jesus Christ. Gospel presentations, preaching, music, and drama are just some of the aspects of this diverse ministry. Serving at evangelistic crusades, revivals, school programs, fairs, camps, conferences, and many other events since 1992. No matter what your life may bring, if you know Jesus Christ you can proudly proclaim…”This is the day the Lord hath made. We will rejoice and be glad in it!”
- Kid’s KrusadeMission… Team members use illusions, juggling, clowning, drama, skits, unicycling, puppets, and many other things to help teach truth to kids of all ages. The primary desire is to teach the Word of God, character, and use as many tools as possible. God has allowed the team members the privilege of studying, and performing with national, and international award-winning professionals. Team members use these opportunities not only to learn, but to witness too. This has also provided a way to improve skills. Why? Keep reading! See if you can find the answer. If you are interested in learning how to perform these skills for ministry, feel free to contact a team member. Motive… It is the team’s goal that through using these various skills, you will be inspired to do great things for God too! “…whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all to the glory of God.” Colossians 3:17 Materials… Professional equipment is important both to avoid injury, and to present the message clearly. Along with these, the team utilizes many home-made contraptions, props, and “whatcha-ma-call-it’s.” Please understand that each member values safety very highly, so learning with a professional, or at minimum with adult supervision is encouraged.…
- VBS AdventuresThe VBS Programs Catastrophe Kitchen Greenback Acres Beyond the Extreme Edge of Time Companion Canyon About the Programs The Merrill Evangelistic Team has been creating and directing multiple Vacation Bible School programs for over 18 years. Each program is specially designed to a specific theme. After the theme, the creation process begins for the numerous elements that go into a VBS program. The unique items for our programs are custom designed, this includes but is not limited to: posters, t-shirts, skits, songs, sets, costumes, buttons, worksheets, crafts, etc. Though the team obviously does not claim originality for everything, the programs are entirely proprietary work. Honoring Christ in all that is done is based on the team’s philosophy of doing things “decently and in order.”-1 Cor.14:40 . Many of the items and materials created for these programs are available. If interested please contact: Randy Merrill VBS Teachers and Assistants! Thank you so much for volunteering to serve with this amazing team! They are very excited about working with you. It’s a guarantee that you too will learn much from this experience together. All VBS Staff are encouraged to dress in modest thematic attire! Please feel free to contact the team, by…
